A retired city employee who formerly worked for the Fullerton Police Department, Kitty has the experience, homegrown roots, and passion for service to improve South Fullerton’s neighborhoods, put residents first, and lead the city to a bright future.
Born and raised in Fullerton, Kitty attended local public schools including Maple Elementary, Wilshire Junior High, Fullerton High School, and Fullerton College. She was the first non-sworn bilingual employee for the Fullerton Police Department. Kitty then worked in Code Enforcement where she helped lead efforts to clean up the city, remove graffiti and blight, and keep residents safe.
After a distinguished career in public service, Kitty turned her attention to local volunteering, spending time giving back to the neighborhoods and community where she was raised. She worked with multiple non-profits including Pathways of Hope, the Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL), Meals on Wheels, West Fullerton Little League, Fullerton Rangers Soccer, and FUHS Boosters. Kitty also served on numerous city commissions including Fullerton’s Homeless Task Force and the Community Block Grant and Development Committee.
Frustrated after seeing her neighborhood without any representation or voice on City Council, Kitty fought on behalf of her community to bring by-district elections to Fullerton. Her actions ensured that South Fullerton finally had a voice at City Hall. She continues to fight for South Fullerton every day as a volunteer and community advocate.
Kitty and her husband Jimmie, a US Army Veteran, have been married for over 50 years. They have 2 adult children who also attended Fullerton Public Schools.
